éste es el día

When I went on missions to Mexico the summer after my freshman year of high school,we learned a lot of kiddie Bible songs in Spanish.

And while I was reflecting on the fact that so many people seem to be super down/stressed/tired/frustrated/unhappy these days, one song popped into my head.

It goes:

"Este es el día, (éste es el día)
Que hizo el Señor, (que hizo el Señor.)
Yo me alegraré, (yo me alegraré,)
Y me gozaré, (y me gozaré.)"

It's that song that we all know - with the words, "This is the day that the Lord has made; I will rejoice and be glad in it."

We must embrace today. I know there are regrets from the past, worries for the future, perhaps even problems in the present - but focus on today. Our daily bread today. Our joy today. Our blessings today. Our God today.

He will take care of you each and every day: "Because of the LORD's great love, we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, 'The LORD is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.' The LORD is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the LORD." (Lamentations 3:22-26)

This is the day that the Lord has made - rejoice and be glad in it.
