a.s.o.t.w (11/4/08)

The Scenario:
Someone is blowing their nose obnoxiously in the middle of a public place, namely class. You're trying to concentrate on your work or on the discussion, but those continual pffbt pfffbt bffffpt nasal shrieks are coming from that one corner in which the offender is sitting. And it's just nasty, but you can't tear your eyes or ears away from that person because you're just mentally willing them to stop. The only noise filling up the relative silence in the space is that of the person. What to do?

The Solution:
What can you do but wait it out? I'm sorry, but that person is just not going to stop until they're feeling less congested. If you're said disturbance, try to lower the volume. Or exit the room and head towards the bathroom. But don't just stand/sit there and interrupt the peaceful thoughts of the people surrounding you. Chances are, they won't even have peaceful thoughts to begin with.
